2026 price guide How much does a website cost in Mauritius in 2026?
Short answer: from Rs 10,000 to over Rs 100,000 to build, then a few thousand rupees a year. Useful answer: what drives that price, and what people often forget to tell you. Here is what I see on the Mauritian market.

Market prices at a glance
I went through the prices published in 2025 and 2026 by several Mauritian agencies and freelancers. These are orders of magnitude, not an official price list: every provider counts differently.
| Type of site | Typical build price |
|---|---|
| Simple brochure site, 1 to 5 pages | Rs 10,000 to 30,000 |
| Business site with features (booking, catalogue) | Rs 25,000 to 60,000 |
| Online shop | Rs 40,000 to 120,000 |
| Bespoke project, web app | Rs 100,000 and up |
An agency that puts a full team on your project (project manager, designer, developer) sits at the top of these ranges or above: Rs 50,000 to 150,000 is a commonly quoted figure for an agency site.
What drives the price
- Number of pages. A home page and a contact form are not the same job as an eight-page site.
- Custom or template. A template bought and filled in costs less than a design built around your business. It is also easier to spot.
- Features. Online booking, payments, a client area, several languages: each one adds work, and sometimes a subscription to a third-party service.
- Copy and photos. If the provider writes your texts or organises a photo shoot, the price goes up. If you supply everything, it goes down.
- SEO. A site built properly for Google from day one saves you paying for optimisation later.
The costs that come back every year
The build price is only the start. Three costs come back every year:
- Domain name. Around ten euros a year for a .com. A .mu costs a lot more: Rs 3,500 a year at one Mauritian reseller, for example (price shown in September 2026).
- Hosting. From zero to about Rs 1,200 a month. A brochure site with no database can be hosted for free, provided the host's free plan allows commercial use: not all of them do, so read the terms. Classic shared hosting runs from Rs 290 to Rs 1,200 a month.
- Maintenance. If you hand it to a provider, estimates published by local agencies are around 10 to 20% of the build price per year. A simple site with no plugins to update usually needs far less than a WordPress site loaded with extensions.
Buy or subscribe: do the maths over three years
Some offers show a low entry price, then a monthly fee. One example offered in Mauritius: Rs 2,000 a month for three months, then Rs 1,000 a month. Over three years that comes to Rs 39,000, and in that particular case the site's code remains the provider's property.
A subscription is not a bad deal in itself: it often includes hosting, maintenance and support. But always ask the awkward question: what happens to my site the day I stop paying?
A site you buy once, on the other hand, is yours. You still pay for the domain and hosting each year, directly to the provider if the contract allows it.
Five questions to ask before you sign
- Is the domain name registered in my name, on my account?
- Who owns the site's code if we stop working together?
- Will I have the hosting logins?
- Is the price fixed before we start, or can it change along the way?
- What will I be billed every year, and by whom?
A vague answer to any of these is worth a second look.
And at Quartz?
I publish my prices, because I think you should be able to compare before writing to anyone.
| Package | Pages | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | 1 to 4 pages | Regular price: |
| Advanced | 5 to 8 pages | Regular price: |
| E-commerce & bespoke | Custom | From Regular price: |
The price is set before we start and doesn't move. The site, the domain, the hosting and the logins are in your name from delivery. The domain and, where applicable, the hosting are paid directly to the provider, with no margin for me.
« My old site was over ten years old. This one is beautiful, and bookings land straight on WhatsApp. »
The sites I delivered are live: compare the old ones and the new ones, side by side.
And before you commit to anything, I build you a free mockup of your site.
